Daa Pyin Saya village, Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar | April 13, 2026
A Rohingya man was arrested by the Arakan Army on the afternoon of April 12 in Buthidaung Township, according to local sources. The arrest was reportedly linked to allegations of using a Bangladeshi mobile network.
The man has been identified as Monir Ahmed, 45, son of Soyed Kasim, from Daung Sara village.
Residents said he was taken from Daa Pyin Saya village at around 4:30 pm. No official information has been released regarding his current condition or whereabouts.
A local resident told Rohingya Khobor, “We are very afraid because people can be arrested at any time without clear reason.”
Another villager said the incident has increased fear among residents. “Many villagers are worried now. They are scared to use mobile phones or even move outside freely,” the resident said.
A third community member said uncertainty remains high. “We do not know what will happen next. There is no safety for us in our own villages,” the person said.
Residents said the situation has heightened concerns over security and freedom of movement in Rohingya villages in the area.
