A Rohingya man was killed in a knife attack in Camp 14, Hakim Para, Sub Block 17, on February 12, 2026, at around 4:30 pm, local residents said. The victim was identified as Mohammed Ismail.
According to local sources, Mohammed Ismail was attacked and stabbed by an unidentified person inside the camp. Community members immediately came forward to assist him and rushed him to a hospital operated by Médecins Sans Frontières for emergency treatment.
Doctors attempted to save his life. He remained alive for several hours after the attack but later died from his injuries, residents said.
The identity of the attacker has not yet been confirmed, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear. No official statement regarding arrests was available at the time of reporting.
The incident has caused fear and concern among residents of Camp 14. Community members said they are calling for improved safety measures and stronger protection mechanisms inside the camps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
