On December 7, dozens of Rohingya organisations denounced the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).
According to a joint statement signed by 22 Rohingya organisations stated, “The Rohingya
community does not accept ARSA as a group that represents the ideals and interests
of the Rohingya community in or outside of Burma. Thus, the group must not claim it
represents the interests of the Rohingya nation.”
The signatories also urged the Bangladeshi authorities, international organisations and foreign governments to have a zero-tolerance policy towards ARSA any other criminal groups.
