Yesterday, on 27 June a group of Rohingya Refugees in Nepal staged a demonstration to demand their basic human rights from the government of Nepal and the United Nations high commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
“We will continue this rally until we got our basic human rights. We are not getting enough rations, rights to education, rights to health care and jobs facilities in Nepal” said Md Hussin a Rohingya from Nepal Refugee camp to the RohingyaKhobor (RK).
There are about 400 Rohingya living in Nepal. Nepal is not a signatory of the 1951 Refugee convention.
They raised 11 points of demand from the Urban Refugees in Nepal.
