On 30 June 2022 the moon sighting committee in Bangladesh declared that the moon has been seen and on the 10th of July, 2022 (Sunday) the holy Eidul Adha will be celebrated around Bangladesh where more than a million Rohingya refugees are residing.
Jafar Alam a refugee from camp 25 stated that they used to celebrate the tenth day of holy Eidul Adha in an enjoyable environment by offering sacrifice cattle and some of the meat was distributed to needy families. But after their exodus to Bangladesh Jafar became dependent to have a piece of meat for his family on the occasion of holy Eidul Adha.
Rahima a refugee woman from camp 26 said to Rohingya Khobor, “Eidul Adha carries joy among Muslims through the event of enjoying the meat of cattle sacrifices which our children may not enjoy this year”.
