Six Rohingyas were arrested from the railway station in the Dharmanagar in the Tripura state of India on Saturday night.
The six members, identified as Mohammad Jahangir Alam (17), Ibrahim Alam (17), Mohammad Ashan (15), Nur Fataman (16), Jhana Tara (14) and Dilwara Begum (27) were reportedly waiting to board a train to Hyderabad.
Upon interrogation, they said they had escaped via Bangladesh following the military crackdown of 2017 which resulted in the killings of their family members. However, one of the detainees Jahangir had been residing in Hyderabad for many years and is suspected as being a mastermind behind a trafficking ring.
