Karen State: On 2 November 2022 around 3:30 pm, the Kok Krait Township Police arrested 101 Rohingyas from Hlaing Wa Bridge, while they were riding to Myawati town in 5 private cars.
The people close to the Kok Krait District Police Commander’s Office stated that a total of 101 Rohingyas, including 23 women who live in Buthidaung Township were jointly arrested by the Kok Krait District Police Office and the Military Council’s Hlaingwa Bridge Security Force.
The arrested Rohingya people have been prosecuted by the Deputy Law Officer of Kok Krait Township and charged with Section 6 (2) / 6 (3) of the 1949 Union of Myanmar Residents Registration Act.
The arrested Rohingya people from Buthidaung Township are those who are going to work in Malaysia through the Myanmar-Thailand border.
