On Saturday the US ambassador Earl Robert Miller to Bangladesh condemned the violence at the Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar. At least six Rohingyas were killed in an attack at a Rohingya camp that took place last Friday.
Earl Robert Miller, the US ambassador to Dhaka, said in a tweet on Saturday, “Strongly condemn yesterday’s violence in the camps @ Cox’s Bazar. As we have from the onset of the refugee crisis, The United States stands with Bangladesh host and Rohingya communities, and all those working to keep the camps safe for everyone.”
In another tweet, Ambassador Miller quoted American civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. as saying, “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.”
