Three Rohingya girls, including a woman who had been married only two days earlier, were reportedly taken by force from their homes in War Ra Kyun village in Buthidaung Township and made to join military service, according to local sources.
Villagers said members of the Arakan Army entered the village without prior notice and removed the girls from their homes.
The girls were identified as Minara, daughter of U Halo, another girl who is the daughter of Rahmat Ullah whose name could not be confirmed, and a third young woman. All three are residents of War Ra Kyun village.
Local residents said the girls are being held at an Arakan Army camp in King Taung village.
One local source said Minara had been married on 16 February 2026 and was taken by force from her husband’s family home on 18 February, just two days after the wedding.
Residents further reported that the girls are being required to take part in training under harsh conditions. A villager said they are made to wear short pants during training and are exposed to inappropriate behavior. There are also unverified reports circulating in the community regarding possible sexual abuse.
Local sources said forced recruitment and arrests have increased in Rohingya villages across Buthidaung Township in recent weeks. As a result, fear is spreading among Rohingya communities, and some families are attempting to leave their homes in search of safety.
