On Friday around 2 p.m. three Rohingyas were killed and 11 wounded in a road accident when their pickup van fell into a ditch at Kocchopia, Teknaf. The police, BGB and Fire Service team rescued the victims and took them to the Teknaf Sadar hospital.
According to the source, a group of 22 Rohingya youth went to Teknaf to celebrate Eid festival, on their way the van lost control whilst trying to save a crossing goat nearby Kochhopia area of Marine Drive, Teknaf. The van fell 15 feet below the road. The deceased were identified as Noor Mohammad, 40, MD Idris, 17, and MD Jubayer, 30.
The injured were taken to Teknaf Upazila Sadar Hospital. The deceased and the injured all reside in Balukhali Refugee camp.
