On November 18, 2022, in a meeting held at the United States Congress, US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar stated that the United States must recognize the Government of National Unity as the official government of Myanmar and that coup leaders should never be given legitimacy.

In addition, it should be clear that Rohingya representation must be included in the government to be recognized by the National Unity Government. This follows from a statement Rohingya Khobor reported on earlier from Representative Brad Sherman who pointed that the current Rohingya person involved in the NUG does not have a formal position.

As the National Unity Government, on November 16, at the third committee meeting of the 77th United Nations General Assembly, issued a press release regarding the approval of the draft resolution on the human rights of Rohingya Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar. Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM); It is stated that it will continue to implement it in cooperation with the international community, including the submitters of special reports on human rights in Myanmar.

The draft resolution reaffirmed the fundamental rights of the Rohingya and other minorities.
