On Tuesday, UK’s Permanent under-secretary for Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Sir Philip Barton visited Bangladesh for the 5th UK-Bangladesh Strategic Dialogue. Before his visit, he announced the UK will donate £3,000,000 for funding through the UNHCR to support Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char.
Permanent Under-Secretary Sir Philip Barton said, “I am pleased to announce a further UK contribution of £3,000,000 to UNHCR, which will help to ensure refugees in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char are able to access healthcare, clean water, hygiene and sanitation services and cooking fuel.”
The UK donation goes for Rohingya shelter, food, water, sanitation, healthcare and protection services.
