10 Rohingya arrested at Mindoon

Magway region: On Saturday (September 17) around 8 pm, based on information, Mindoon city police arrested 10 Rohingyas, including 8 teenagers, from Taung Group village of Mindoon township of Tharak district. It is alleged that those ten Rohingya were kept in a house and were going to be trafficked to Malaysia.

All arrested Rohingyas are the inhabitants of Maungdaw, according to source.

The locals close to Mindoon police station said that those ten Rohingyas have been brought to Taung Group village of Mindoon city by brokers through various stages. On information, Mindoon police and Myanmar Army Security Forces detained them at Mindoon city police station after arrest.

Mindon Township’s Law Department is preparing to sue them under Section 6 (2) /6 (3) of the Union of Myanmar Residents Registration Act of 1949.
