On the afternoon of July 16, near the Kyauktan village in Rathedaung township, Arakan state, a clash broke out between the Arakan Army and the Tatmadaw where three farmers were injured.
Around at 1 pm, the Tatmadaw opened fire from the helicopters and three farmers who were cultivating were hit by shrapnel, said U Aung Thaung Shwe. The victims were taken to Lamonetanig village to provide medical treatment.
In 2017, the Myanmar military fired large weapons and burned thousands of houses and many villages that resulted in the exodus of more than one million Rohingya to neighbouring Bangladesh.
