Rohingya refugees have been severely suffering due to the lack of water supply, across the various make-shift camps located throughout Teknaf Upazila. The absence of available outlets of running water or even tube-wells, has forced the residing refugees into using whatever unpurified water that they have been able to scavenge; the effect of which is already rendering amongst their most vulnerable members, especially infants.
Certain NGO’s, such as “Solidarity”, have installed water supply points in critically affected areas, that allow each refugee to collect a maximum of four pitchers of water, after wasting hours in que, each day.
According to the afflicted, this support will not be enough for them to recover from the crisis, and they are hopeless until the authorities acknowledge the situation and co-operate with them.
