AA mutineers rape Rohingya woman at gun point in Buthidaung

Rakhine region: On Saturday (October 1) around 8 pm, an insurgent group of Arakan Army (AA) equipped with firearms entered to Pazzun Chaung hamlet of Kyaung Taung village in Buthidaung, gatecrashed a Rohingya house, and forcefully raped a woman with a small infant, by pointing gun at her husband’s head.

The details of rape victim is kept confidential for security reasons.

A Rohingya from the village who declined to be named told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that some mutineer members of AA forcefully entered to the house of victim, confined her husband at gun point, and one by one they gang raped her.

He also said, “The rapist AA members fled the scene after fulfilling their pleasure, when the victim shouted for help.”

After the incident the regional commander of AA visited the spot and dreadfully threatened the victim and her husband not to report the matter to any media and government authority of proceeding against the rapists, according to locals.

The tension of AA and military is prevailing around the Rohingya civilians villages. And Rohingyas became a piece of wood of two wood cutters in Rakhine state.
