Bilal Erdoğan, son of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and international footballer Mesut Özil are scheduled to visit the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar on February 19, 2026, to attend the first Iftar of Ramadan with Rohingya refugees.

According to event organizers, the delegation will participate in an Iftar program with refugees and visit shelters and educational facilities inside the camps. The visit is being hosted by the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.

Officials said the visit reflects Turkey’s continued engagement in the Rohingya humanitarian response, particularly in the field of education. The delegation is expected to visit one of the nine schools supported by Turkish initiatives inside the camps.

The visitors are also expected to express appreciation to the people of Bangladesh for hosting Rohingya refugees for nearly a decade.

Event Schedule

According to organizers, the visit will include a briefing at the RRRC office, followed by visits to education and health facilities inside the camps. The delegation is also expected to engage in youth and sports related activities.

An Iftar program with Rohingya community members will take place later in the day.

Media coverage opportunities include the delegation’s arrival and press conference at the RRRC office, the Iftar event, and interactions with refugee families and community leaders.

Officials have not released further details regarding security or access arrangements.
