On Saturday (Sept 2) early morning The police recovered the throat-slit body of a Rohingya youth from a drain between Block 10 H/25 and 27 of Rohingya Camp-10 H/25 and 27 in Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhiya Police Station Sheikh Muhammad Ali confirmed the matter.

The name of the dead Rohingya youth is Muhammad Mujib (24).  He is the son of Obaidul Haque of Rohingya Camp-8 West Block A/46 in Ukhiya.

Ali said that around 6 am on Saturday, locals saw the body of a young man lying in the drain. Later they told the camp Leaders (Majhee) who told Panbazar Armed Police Battalion (8 APBN).

“According to APBN news, a team of ours went to the spot and recovered the body.  The nearby Rohingyas identified the body as Mujib of Camp-8 West Block A/46”, OC said.

He also said that no one is yet sure who is involved in this murder.  The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for post mortem.
