On 14 March, Officer in Charge of Ukhiya police station, Sheikh Mohammed Ali, said that on Monday around 10 pm, one Rohingya youth namely Md. Salim registered a case against 30-35 unidentified people with Ukhiya police station in connection with subversive fire which left thousands homeless in Balukhali camp.
Meanwhile, the Investigation Committee has found evidence that the fire on March 5 in Rohingya Camp No. 11, was a planned act of sabotage.
Incidentally, 2,805 various structures including houses and 15,925 Rohingyas were affect by the fire in Balukhali Camp No. 11 in Ukhiya on March 5. Earlier on March 22, 2021, a terrible fire occurred in the same camp. At that time, 11 people died, more than 500 people were injured. Up to 9,000 houses were burnt.
