Maungdaw/Buthidaung: In a concerning development from the regions of Maungdaw and Buthidaung, communication lines have been severely disrupted, leaving residents in a precarious position. Amidst ongoing conflicts, all phone lines and internet services have been limited, with the exception of the ATOM sim network. However, reports indicate that even ATOM sim users are facing significant challenges in maintaining steady communication.

The situation has escalated with recent fighting reported in downtown Buthidaung. This violence has tragically resulted in the loss of several lives. Local sources have confirmed that numerous Rohingyas were killed in their homes due to artillery strikes by the SAC (State Administration Council) in the past week. The severity of these strikes has not only caused irreparable loss of life but has also exacerbated the communication blackout in these regions.
