The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Sunday that it assisted and celebrated the graduation of 100 female university students from the Rohingya community, displaced in southeastern Bangladesh, at the Asian University for Women in Chittagong.

Abdulrahman Al-Aoun, Director General of KRCS, highlighted to KUNA that this humanitarian initiative was made possible through a generous grant from Kuwait Finance House (KFH) to support the education of 100 displaced Rohingya female students in Bangladesh. Emphasizing the pivotal role of education in society, he underscored the importance of ensuring educational rights for all, including those affected by armed conflicts. KRCS remains committed to supporting and providing relief to displaced Rohingya in collaboration with local and international partners.

Al-Aoun expressed sincere gratitude to KFH for their support, noting that their generosity enabled the graduation of this group of displaced female students, illustrating Kuwait’s commitment reflected in the slogan ‘Kuwait by your side,’ guided by Kuwaiti leadership’s humanitarian principles. He also thanked the Kuwaiti Embassy in Bangladesh for their cooperation in overcoming obstacles during the delegation’s mission.

Kamal Ahmad, founder and president of the Asian University for Women, Bangladesh, emphasized that this project significantly expanded educational opportunities for those deprived due to war and conflicts. He acknowledged Kuwait’s government and people for their efforts in supporting displaced Rohingya in Bangladesh, praising Kuwait’s global humanitarian role and expressing gratitude for the partnership and support for university education, vital for future generations and humanity.

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society has undertaken numerous relief, medical, and educational initiatives to aid displaced Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
