Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh | June 12, 2026,
A fire broke out at around 1:40 PM today in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.
According to local sources, the fire occurred in Camp 4, Sub-Block B6, near Camp 4 Extension. The fire was reported at the CNRS office and Skills Development Center, located beside the Camp 4 football field and near the CIC office along the main road.
Residents quickly noticed the fire and gathered near the area as smoke spread from the building. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
According to the office guards who spoke to an RK reporter, the fire is believed to have started due to an electrical short circuit while going to Jummah prayer. The guards said they first noticed smoke coming from the building before the fire quickly spread.
However, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed, and an investigation may be conducted to determine what happened.
At the time of reporting, there was no official information about injuries or the extent of the damage. Authorities and concerned organizations are expected to investigate the incident and provide further updates.
