On 12 December at 4 pm, five Rohingya houses were burnt to ashes at middle village of Midachao in Buthidaung.
The locals said that the fire started when Abdu’s wife was frying eggs. The fire rapidly grew bigger and blazed five houses.
The nearby villagers came and managed to bring the fire under control after hours of watering.
However, fortunately, no one was injured, but fire damaged households worth much than 700 lakh kyats. Those who lost their homes are facing difficulties in living during this winter season.
