Malaysian field hospital had been in operation in the Rohingya Refugee Camp, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh since 2017 providing essential and critical medical services.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob stated that the decision to terminate the activity of the hospital was a precautionary step to safeguard Malaysian Armed Forces(ATM) team from COVID-19.
The 56 individuals from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) have been called back.
The Rohingya refugees were thankful to the people and the government of Malaysia for all their support and services and hoping the hospital will re-open when the Covid-19 outbreak ends.
