Refugee camp: On Thursday (27 October) around 3 am, around 10-15 masked people equipped with firearms and sharp weapons came to block H 76 of camp 17, and started indiscriminately firing to civilian Rohingyas, where two Rohingya men died.

The deceased are Ayat Ullah (40) son of Kefayet Ullah, and Yasin (30) son of Md. Kasim. Both are residents of camp 17.

A Rohingya from camp 17, who declined to be named, told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that some miscreants who were believed to be the members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) attacked and fired at block H 76 of camp 17 around 3 am of Thursday. After gunning down two Rohina men, the attackers left the spot.

Another Rohingya said that the local Rohingyas found Yasin died on the spot, and recovered Ayat Ullah in critical condition and rushed him to MSF hospital, where the on duty doctor declared him death.

In this regard, the refugees are worried.

The bodies have been sent to Cox’s Bazar morgue for autopsy and the operation to arrest the culprits is underway, according law enforcement agency.
