Dhaka — October 18, 2026. Member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation have reaffirmed their support for the Rohingya case before the International Court of Justice, according to information released by Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 18.
The commitment came at a meeting of the OIC’s ministerial committee on accountability for human rights violations against the Rohingya, held alongside the organisation’s foreign ministers’ meeting in Baghdad, Iraq.
Bangladesh’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir led the country’s delegation and co-chaired the committee meeting, UNB reported.
Kobir urged member states to take collective action to address the prolonged crisis and support humanitarian assistance and legal efforts. He also highlighted the need for justice and accountability.
The renewed support places the international legal case alongside diplomatic efforts to resolve the Rohingya crisis. The announcement did not report a new court ruling or a timetable for the safe return of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar
