Cox’s Bazar, 5 September 2026: A pregnant Rohingya woman was reportedly seriously injured after being stabbed during an attack at a shelter in Camp 5, according to local sources.
The woman was identified as Ismot Bibi, wife of Anser Ahmed, a resident of Block D-11.
Local sources told Rohingya Khobor that the incident happened at around 3:40 a.m. on 4 September, when a group of people came to the shelter looking for Anser Ahmed.
Anser Ahmed was reportedly not at home at the time.
According to the sources, Ismot Bibi was attacked and suffered multiple stab wounds. She was later taken to hospital for treatment.
Local sources also alleged that the attackers had been looking for Anser Ahmed following an earlier dispute. Rohingya Khobor could not independently verify the motive for the attack.
Some sources alleged that members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) were involved. Rohingya Khobor could not independently confirm the identity or affiliation of the attackers.
Further details about Ismot Bibi’s medical condition and any police or APBn investigation were not immediately available.
