A 10-year-old Rohingya girl was reported missing from Camp 7 in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, on November 6. Her family said two men took her, and a ransom of Tk 500,000 was demanded for her release, according to an account published by Rohingya Monitor on November 8.
The girl was returning from a hospital with her mother when she disappeared at around 10 a.m. local time, the outlet reported, citing the family. Rohingya Monitor said it reviewed a video that appeared to show a man threatening the child and demanding money.
Rohingya Khobor could not independently verify the video or the reported ransom demand. The girl’s whereabouts could not be independently confirmed as of November 8.
