Cox’s Bazar — 4 July 2025 | The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three individuals for possession of illegal firearms during an early morning raid near the Rohingya camp area in Cox’s Bazar.
The suspects have been identified as:
- Shah Alam (40) and Md Adil (35), also known as Adilya, both from Moheshkhali
- Abdul Zalil (29) from Ukhiya
According to RAB officials, the arrests were made following a tip-off. A raid was conducted in the Dakshin Kolatoli area, where the men were reportedly caught transporting weapons.
During the operation, RAB recovered:
- One foreign-made automatic rifle
- Eight bullets
- Several mobile phones
Assistant Superintendent of Police AM Faruk, who serves as the Law and Media Officer of RAB-15 Cox’s Bazar, confirmed the arrests in a press release.
A case has been filed against the three individuals at the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station, and legal proceedings are underway.
