On Thursday night Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested a Rohingya named Abu Taher (37) son of Abdu Salam along with one gun, ammunition and 10,000 pieces of yaba after raiding the Rohingya camp of Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar.
This operation was conducted at Thankhali Tajnimarkhola camp number 13 of Palongkhali union of the upazila.
Kamran Hossain, assistant superintendent of Police (Media) of 8 Armed Police Battalion, said that on the basis of secret information, a group of police led by Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, inspector of police outpost of Tajnimar, raided Abu Taher’s house in G/5 Block of the camp and found a home made one-shotter gun under the bed, in addition two bullets and 10,000 pieces yaba were recovered.
The detainee has been sent to Ukhiya police station under relevant acts.
