On Sunday (16 April) around 9 pm, a village leader was hacked to death while walking on the village road of Kyazinga para of Buthidaung. The villagers believe that the killing was committed by fellow villagers.
The deceased is U Salamat Khan (45), a chairman of 5 membered village committee of Kyazinga Para in Buthidaung.
A villager under the anonymity told the Rohingya Khobor (RK) that since last year a conflict is going on between Mv Idris and his son in law Samsul Alam, that has been solved by village leader Salamat after receiving complaint.
“The decision did not went to the favor of Samsul. So, it is being believe that Samsul committed this crime over the grievance,” the villager said.
Following the incident, a tense situation is prevailing around the village.
