Sagaing Division: On Saturday (October 8) starting from 12:30 pm, the military council conducted an air strike with 2 jet fighters at Bo Ya Lai Kone village of Wet Hlet township in Shwebo district.

The troops conducted a raid in the village, and arrested 20 residents after killing 8 People Defense Forces (PDF) including civilians in an hour airstrike, according to report of Ayerawaddy times.

“They came first with 2 jet fighters. And then shot with 4 helicopters. After circling around the four villages, the helicopters came to drop the rockets and ride. Both the defense team and the local residents are currently known to have killed 8 people. About 20 local people were arrested. As far as we can tell, some local men were also killed after being arrested. It took about 1 hour from start to finish,” a woman from Wet Hlet told The Irrawaddy Times.

It is learnt that the military council’s airstrikes circled around the village of Bo Ya Lai Kone, and because of that, the Sain Nynn village school adjacent to the village of Bo Ya Lai Kone was also hit by an aircraft shell.

Social networks controlled by military council reported that 8 PDF members were killed and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized after the military council attacked the PDF camp in Bo Ya Lai Kone Village in Wet Hlet Township.

A dreadful situation is prevailing around the area.
