Hospitals like this do not admit Muslim patients.

Rohingyas are now too afraid to go to government owned hospitals after reports spread that Rakhine nurses are killing new born babies and pregnant women in the Buthidaung hospital situated in ward no 12 of the town area.

Earlier, there have been a series of murders in the Sittwe General Hospital of Akyab town. One Rakhine nurse had earlier narrated an incident in 2015 where she escorted a Rohingya family out of the hospital after her colleagues had planned to kill a baby boy.

Now similar rumors are circulating in Buthidaung town. As a result, Rohingyas are shying away from medical treatment especially child delivery cases.

However, while such cases have long been confirmed in the Akyab area, it is difficult to confirm the authenticity of alleged murders of children in the Buthidaung hospital. The development however points to the growing terror that is taking hold of the township where a once vibrant Muslim population is living in the grips of a regime that has imposed a reign of terror since last year which has resulted in the deaths of around 10,000 Rohingyas, including hundreds of children.

Incidentally, most hospitals in Arakan have long refused to admit Rohingya patients, while those that did have often murdered them.
