Earlier, after the surprising quote of Japanese Ambassador Ichiro Maruyama to Myanmar, the government of Bangladesh has protested against it on Monday through its Foreign ministry secretary M Khurshed Alam at a meeting with Japanese ambassador.
Mr Ichiro Maruyama said, “I don’t think that the Myanmar Tatmadaw committed genocide or [had the] intent of genocide. I also don’t think that they have intention to kill all the Muslim residents in Rakhine.”
As for now, not even a single Rohingya has returned to Rakhine for Myanmar’s denial of citizenship to the Rohingyas and merest change of mindset toward them. There is a huge question of safety, security, sustainability and human rights.
Since the Rohingya crisis, Bangladesh has taken strong stand towards Rohingyas and promised for peaceful repatriation with Myanmar.
