Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh — June 5, 2026

A child was found dead near a lake beside a football field in Camp-04, Block-B, Sub Block-B06 of the Rohingya refugee camps on Friday.

According to a community awareness notice issued by camp authorities, local residents discovered the child’s body near the lake and immediately informed the relevant authorities.

Camp officials and security personnel arrived at the scene after receiving the report. The identity of the child and the cause of death were not immediately known.
Residents expressed sadness over the incident and called for a proper investigation to determine what happened.

“We were shocked when we heard the news.
It is very painful to see such a tragedy in our community,” said one Rohingya resident.

Another resident said, “We hope the authorities will investigate the case and provide answers to the child’s family.”

Authorities are expected to conduct further inquiries into the incident. More details are likely to emerge as the investigation continues.
