On 11 September 2022 (Sunday) the District Sessions Judge Court of Cox’s Bazar has ordered the framing of charges against 29 accused in the murder case of Rohingya leader Mohibullah, confirmed by PP Faridul Alam of Cox’s Bazar District Sessions Judge Court.

Earlier on Monday (June 13), the police filed a charge sheet against 29 people in the Mohibullah murder case. Among them 15 are in Cox’s Bazar District Jail. Another 14 have absconded since the incident. All the accused are involved with the Rohingya armed group, ARSA, the police said.

On the night of September 29, 2021, some gunmen assassinated Rohingya leader Mohibullah (48) at the office of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH) organization in the D block of Ukhiya’s Lambashia refugee camp. He was the Chairman of that organization. Some gunmen from Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) named in the attack.

The next day on 30 September 2021, Mohibullah’s younger brother Habibullah filed a murder case against the unidentified terrorists at Ukhia police station.
