Dead body of Rohingya found with hands and feet tied in Ukhiya camp

On 26 June 2023(Monday) morning, police recovered a body of Rohingya with hands and feet tied tightly from H-59 block of camp-18 in Ukhiya refugee camp.

The body has been identified as Ashique Elahi (23) son of Shohidul Hoque of block H-7 in camp-11 of Ukhiya camp.

A refugee said that they saw a body laid on the road with hands and feet tied. And on this information, police came and took the body to Cox’s Bazar morgue for autopsy.

The reason of murder and who are involved has not been known yet.

Sheikh Mohammad Ali, Officer in charge of Ukhiya police station said that having the information, police recovered the body Ashique from camp-18 and sent to Cox’s Bazar morgue for autopsy.

The Identification of the culprits and their arrest operation is under way.
