Fire Breaks Out at Balukhali Rohingya Camp

On Sunday, March 5th, at 2:45pm local time, a devastating fire broke out at block-E of camp 11 in Balukhali-2, located in Ukhiya Upazila. As the wind picked up, the fire rapidly spread and became out of control, despite the best efforts of the refugee community to contain it. As of the writing of this report, the fire is still burning.

The refugees are pleading for urgent support from the authorities and the international community to help the victims and to address the issue for a long term solution. This latest incident adds to the long list of tragedies faced by the Rohingya community, who have already suffered so much.
