Camp-8W, Cox’s Bazar – January 23, 2025
A fire broke out in B Block, Sub-Block A15 of Camp-8W around 8:50 PM on Thursday night, completely destroying one shelter and damaging three others. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Quick action by residents prevented the fire from spreading in the densely populated camp. While containing the fire, neighboring shelters sustained minor damage.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, and emergency support is being arranged for affected families. The incident underscores the need for improved fire preparedness in camp settings.
