Rakhine state officials have ordered locals in Guam Pyi, Buthidaung to leave their homes and settle alongside a nearby canal, according to local sources.
State officials told locals that these new homes will be built by the government.
The information was disseminated by village administrators in meetings held after Jumma prayers on Friday.
The declaration corresponds with an increasing security build-up in the locality over the last few days.
A Rayeka (village administrator) in Guam Pyi has already been forced to signed a contract regarding this matter.
In a similar move earlier last week, government officials have ordered villagers through separate meetings in the Taung Bazaar area to leave their homes and settle in a single zone monitored by state forces.
The government told locals this is a necessary move to counter ARSA rebels hiding in the population.
Rohingya activists allege the remaining population are eventually being forced into IDP camps resembling the open air prisons of the Central Arakan where Muslims have virtually been prisoners of the state since the riots of 2012.
