Sittwe: On 31st October (Monday) around 10:30 pm, the military of 354th battalion, based at the monastery of Palla Pyin Village in Sittwe Township, arrested two Rohingya men from the house of Mohammed Hussein in Veda village, Sittwe township. During the arrest military took away two motorcycles and four android phones.

The arrestees are U Mohammed Hussein (37), son of U Sultan, resident of Chan Gone Village, and U Karim Ullah (33) son of U Sayed Amin, resident of Veda Village, Siak Chin Group, Sittwe Township.

A villager said that the military arrested and took away them in a car while Karim Ullah with his wife came to Hussein’s house for dinner on invitation.

Beside their arrest, the military seized two motorcycles and four mobile phones from the house of Hussein, according to locals.

Suddenly, the military forces rushed to the village, encircled the house of Hussein and arrested them without showing any reasons. Now the villagers and family members don’t know where they have been taken, a villager said.

Family members of both Karim and Hussein are worried with the arrest and they are fearing whether the military will kill the arrestees.
