No public gathering: mosques, schools and local trade at the risk of being shut down in Maungdaw town

Maungdaw Town officials has released article under 144 martial law for Muslim inhabitants  ordering them not to gather in public places including schools, mosques and local markets.

The orders effectively mean the end of prayers, education, and even trade. The orders are valid for at least two months, according to government officials who made the declaration.

Suspension of civil liberties including arbitrary  searches, freedom of association, and freedom of movement is creating frustrations amongst Maungdaw Muslim Rohingyas.
