A Rohingya leader (Sub Majhi) was allegedly hacked to death for being vocal against the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) in Ukhiya Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased is Sub-Maji Mohammad Ayub (35) of Block H/56 of Ukhiya Camp-18.
The incident took place in front of Codec School at Block-H/56 of camp 18 in Ukhiya around 5 pm on Tuesday (September 19). Additional DIG, Mohammad Amir Zafar of 8 Armed Police Battalion confirmed the matter.
He said that around 5 pm on Tuesday, in front of Codec School of Camp-18, Block-H/56, a group of armed assailants hacked Ayub to death and left the scene.
Based on this information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, and sent to Cox’s Bazar district hospital for post mortem.
