Johor Bahru, Malaysia – November 30, 2024

A tragic motorcycle accident in Johor Bahru on Saturday morning claimed the life of 25-year-old Rohingya man, Anamul Hoque, leaving his family and community in mourning. The accident occurred around 10:30 am while Anamul was on his way to collect materials from the market.

Anamul, who worked as a daily laborer and mason, lost control of his speeding motorcycle and fell onto the road. Another young motorcyclist was also involved in the accident, sustaining severe leg injuries. Despite the efforts of passersby to assist, Anamul succumbed to his injuries before emergency responders could take him to the hospital. The injured boy is currently receiving treatment at a local medical facility.

Anamul’s sudden death has left his family, including his brother Akram, devastated. Known for his hard work and dedication to supporting his loved ones, Anamul’s loss is deeply felt by the Rohingya community in Johor Bahru.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by vulnerable communities and the need for increased awareness about road safety measures. Authorities and community leaders are urging motorcyclists to exercise caution, prioritize safety, and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies.

Anamul’s passing serves as a somber reminder of the precarious lives many Rohingya lead as they strive to build better futures while navigating daily hardships.
