Cox’s Bazar, September 25, 2026 — The death of 20-year-old Rohingya teacher Kabola Begum in Camp 17 on September 22 remains under investigation, with conflicting accounts of how she died.
A family document reviewed by Rohingya Khobor identifies her as Kabola Begum, daughter of Samsul Ahmed. Her family said she had been staying in Camp 17 and teaching the Qur’an to girls.
Her family alleges that unidentified people attacked her while looking for one of her brothers. Rohingya Khobor has not independently verified that account or established how she died.
A separate report, citing the Armed Police Battalion, said her body was found hanging and sent for an autopsy. The post-mortem findings have not been confirmed.
