Early Monday morning (April 24), 10-15 an armed group entered the house of Mayura Begum, a resident of C block in Nayapara camp, indiscriminately shot and stabbed the family members.  Where one of Mayura’s sisters died on the spot after being shot and Mayura along with her two daughters sustained serious injuries due to stabbing and gunshot wounds.

An inhabitant from block C said that since last few days the terrorist group has been dreadfully threatening her to kill due to past enmity. But Mayura paid no heed to it. And she was on her way.  Ultimately the assailants attacked her house at night and brutally killed other members. After confirming they were dead, the miscreant left the scene.

After receiving the information, the police reached the spot late, when the body and the injured were taken to the hospital, the on duty doctor declared Mayura’s sister dead and kept the other injured under treatment.

According to police personnel, the body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar district hospital for autopsy. The legal procedure would be taken against the killers if a complaint is filed from the Maurya’s family.

On the other hand, on Sunday morning, a body of a Rohingya youth was found at Huwakiya Para in Hnila.

The body has been identified as Mohamned Hasim (20) son of Karim Ullah, a refugee of E block in Nayapara camp.

According to near by refugees, on the day of Eidul Fitre  Hashim and his three more friends went to Nila to visit. Few hours later, Hashim’s mother found his mobile off while called. And the next day, his body was recovered with the injury of stabbing on his body.

Refugees are in fear due to the series of killings.  The refugees demand the immediate arrest of the serial killers  in the camp before further deterioration of camp security.
