Rohingyas to commemorate ‘6th Rohingya genocide remembrance day’ via programs

On 24 August 2023 around 1:30 pm (UK) and 7:30 pm (Thai), the Burma Human Rights Network (BHRN) is going to present a penal discussion on ‘Seeking justice and accountability for Rohingyas’. It is learnt that the discussion will be ‘held as an event commemorating what is being dubbed as “Rohingya genocide remembrance day.

Mr Kyaw Win from Burma Human Rights Network will do opening remark of the discussion which will be moderated by Veronica Pedrosa. The speakers who will address the discussion are Mr, Hussein Thomasi, Solicitor General of the Gumbia,  Pavani Nagarajabhat from Fortify Rights, Christopher Gunnes from Myanmar Accountability Project, Lucky Karim from Women’s Rights Network and Tun Khin from Burmese Rohingya Organization UK.

Another event that will be hosted is by the “Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day Organizing Committee” three sessions in three different languages to commemorate the day on 25 August this year.

The sessions in three languages are scheduled as; the first session in the Burmese language will be held from 8:30 am to 10:00 am (Myanmar Standard Time); NUG officials and activists from different ethnic backgrounds will join the virtual discussion.

The second session in the Rohingya language, will be held from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm (Myanmar Standard Time), Rohingya leaders and activists will speak.

The third session, in the English language, is also scheduled for the same day, from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm (Myanmar Standard Time); government officials and diplomats will join there.
