A 115-member delegation associated with the National Defence Course 2026 visited the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner’s office in Cox’s Bazar on October 28 for a briefing on the Rohingya crisis, according to information attributed to the RRRC.
The visit formed part of the Bangladesh National Defence College’s Internal Study Tour programme.
Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Muhammad Mizanur Rahman briefed the delegation on refugees’ living conditions, humanitarian coordination and the challenges surrounding a lasting solution.
According to the account, Rahman outlined three long-term solutions for refugees: voluntary repatriation, local integration and resettlement in a third country. He said Bangladesh regarded safe, voluntary, dignified and sustainable return to Myanmar as the only acceptable long-term solution for Rohingya refugees.
That statement reflected Bangladesh’s policy position.
Rahman also said humanitarian assistance alone would not resolve the crisis and called for stronger international engagement to address its root causes in Myanmar.
He acknowledged the assistance provided by Bangladeshi communities during the 2017 mass displacement and described the RRRC’s coordination with humanitarian organisations.
The account provided no new repatriation timetable or specific international commitment arising from the visit.
