Teknaf- The Myanmar military uniforms recovered by Bangladesh customs were destined for a man simply known as the ‘Boss’.
The information was given to the customs officials by the arrested man Bo Aung Chang Marma.
The arrested man also said he had two other close associates from the Marma community in the Thanchi area of Bandarban in Bangladesh.
Reports have hinted ‘Boss’ is an operative of the Rakhine rebel outfit Arakan Army that has been fighting the Tatmadaw in recent years.
The interrogation has also claimed that Boss has possession of many heavy weaponry.
The exact motive for the smuggling of Myanmar army uniforms through Teknaf land port is not clear. The consignment of 200 Tatmadaw uniforms were seized by Bangladesh customs last week.
