A Rohingya man had a narrow brush with death as Rakhine miscreants attempted to kill him with sharp weapons in Jaila para, Mamra.

Md Rabbani, 25, a religion teacher was going to his students on Saturday morning, when a gang of miscreants suddenly attacked him with broken bottles and sharp instruments. They attempted to stab him in the stomach and the throat area, but did not succeed.

His cries for help brought along locals whose presence neutralised the attackers. They however threatened to come back with more force and have their revenge on the Muslims. A tense atmosphere is prevailing in the neighbourhood.Mamra teaacer attack
